P Plate category

Postby Simon » Tue Mar 02, 2010 11:28 pm

Good news, after the success of the Warwick Cup allowing new riders on street bikes to compete, the Motorcycle Sportsmen have added a new "P Plate" class to the Southern Downs Challenge Series.

This class will allow riders that have not raced in the last 5 years to ride with other riders on similar times. This also is a chance for those with machines that do not fit into our usual classes to “Have a go”.

So come out and give road racing a try.
Revised supplementary regulations (entry forms) will be available soon.
Entries for round 1 of this 3 round series are open until the 17th of March so get your entries in quick.

I have not seen the new supp regs but based on the rules we used at the Warwick Cup -
Bolts that require it must be lockwired or taped.
I'm pretty sure bikes with fairing will require a catch tray - baking trays were a popular option.
Only water in the radiator.
I'm not 100% on engine casings.

Cheers

Rather than calling it "P Platers", how about "Rookies"? Sounds a bit more inviting ;)
